I’m what happens when a Corolla, and a Delorean have a Passionate night in a shady motel.

What is a Toyota Sera?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Seriously how and a car this mechanically lame, but this cool looking. FWD, 110hp 1.5l engine, and they weren’t offered in a manual. Ever. It’s basically a Paseo mechanically. But I bet it’s at least more reliable than a DMC.

Edit: according to Wiki I was wrong it was offered with a 5 speed manual. :)

I dunno. I don’t think numbers speak to the potential of fun this car could be. It’s really small, and light. 110hp found at 6400rpm means you’d want to keep that engine spun up. fwd is not an automatic sign of boring you know. given the right transmission and desires to push it I bet this could be a blast to drive.

haha I was looking at that yesterday. I had an auto 125hp Pulsar NX of that same era, was definitley fun to drive. Only 15 hp different and likely smaller/lighter, I bet it’s stil fun.

I’ve had a few times set up to go do a story on those guys but haven’t been able to make it happen.

I didn’t believe the “slow car fast is fun” thing until I got a classic mini. Most fun car I’ve ever driven...all 62 hp of it.

The sera barely weighs less than a ton, that 110 hp will be peppy enough.

This is very true, I love a good FWD car(Honda guy). I just feel like for all the crazy looks they should have given it a bit more umph. Altho the curb weight was just a hair over 2000, so yeah maybe this is actually a Toyota CRX, with some neat doors.

I don’t care that it’s slow, and basically a Paseo under the skin, that thing is just downright cool!

aw.. remember when Honda FWD where fun? damn, I miss the ol’ days of Honda. But I digress, I’m gonna have to look later for some kind of video review of this car cause now I am curious how these actually are to drive.

You know the Fit is still fun. My Wife’s had her 2010 for two months now. It have the 5 speed auto, with the flappy paddles. Even without a manual trans it’s a fun little car. Still toss-able, still confident around a corner. It’s no 4th gen hatchback, bit it’s loads better than an 8th or 9th gen Civic AKA an Accord.

I’ve heard this before. Never had a chance to drive one though. maybe I’ll test drive one to see for my self. I really wish honda would find it’s way home again. I’d love to see a new prelude or something sporty out side of a civic, which eh.. it’s been a while since they were really fun.

yup, the last really good Civic was the EP3, Even my 01 coupe wasn’t as well put together as my 99 sedan, and not near as fun as my 91 hatch.
